Carrington Falls is a spectacularly high waterfall that can be viewed from easy observation points along a 0.6 km loop walk from the car park.
We can take a sidetrack to the top of the falls as the Kangaroo River flows over many small cascades.

We will photograph the waterfall from a wide angle and then closer, finding points of interest as the water plummets down to the valley. We will experiment with different shutter speeds to freeze the water movement or create the silky water effect as the water falls over rocks. Above the falls, you can look for more miniature “landscapes” in the rock cascades and pools.

This session will complement the morning's Nellie's Glen waterfall meet-up to explore different techniques, but can be attended independently.

We may need to carpool from a close point if parking is limited– this will be arranged beforehand.

Note: this location and the waterfall may be affected by weather. It will be reviewed before the meet-up date.


Bring a tripod (optional)
Neutral Density (ND) or Polarising filter (optional, but bring if you have one)
