If you're around Wollongong or can make the short drive, the HARS Aviation Museum is hosting its series from October 10 to December 10, 2025, right at their base in Shellharbour Airport, Albion Park. It's a laidback chance to get up close with some of their one-of-a-kind aircraft, parked out on the tarmac like they're just waiting for a yarn. No frills, just the planes sitting pretty, occasionally revving up their engines for a bit of noise, or even taking to the skies if the mood strikes.

You can hop aboard a few of them and plonk yourself in the cockpit, pretending you're the next Top Gun without all the drama. Guides will be on hand to chat about the beasts and make sure you don't accidentally launch into orbit, turning what could be a dusty hangar visit into something a tad more immersive.
